Feeder buses run to and from Al Barsha 2 (F29), Arabian Ranches (F30), The Meadows East (F31) and Al Barsha 3 (F33)
Mall of the Emirates: You don’t even have to work up a sweat heading here. A covered, air-conditioned travellator will whisk you into the mammoth Mall of the Emirates, which is home to 223,000 sq m of shops, a 14-screen cinema, Magic Planet and, of course, Ski Dubai.

The Kempinski Hotel: Overlooking Ski Dubai, Sezzam is a great place to enjoy watching the ski-slope shenanigans without eating in a mall food court. Next, head to the Mosaic Chill Bar out on the pool terrace on the second floor of the hotel. Flop onto one of the beanbags by the lavish infinity pool and puff on shisha.

Almaz by Momo: Despite being shoved at the back of Harvey Nichols in Mall of the Emirates, this restaurant manages to throw together good food with enough kitsch touches to feel unique and un-mall like. There are some unusual and inspired things on the menu. Open with a pigeon pastilla and move onto the lamb tagine, mopped with a floury Moroccan muffin.

Ductac: Although it’s in the Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Community Theatre & Art Centre (Ductac) is at the opposite end to the metro stop and so it is still a bit of a trek – but at least it’s an air-conditioned one. The organisation runs workshops in dance, drama, art and everything in between. If you’re not up for taking part, you can always enjoy one of its many performances.

Roots: Yes – we managed to find something in this area that’s not in the mall! (It’s tucked away just behind it.) Roots offers a great range of services from spas to spray tans, as well as make-up lessons.
