THE JEBEL ALI METRO STATION IN DUBAI IS NOT OPEN YET. KEEP CHECKING TIME OUT DUBAI FOR MORE DETAILS.

Jebel Ali: Feeder buses to and from Jebel Ali Free Zone, aka Jafza (F54), Jafza Office Towers (F55) and Jebel Ali Waterfront (F56).

Jebel Ali Industrial: Feeder buses to and from Jebel Ali Industrial Area (F47).

Energy: Feeder buses to and from Dewa Station

1 Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa: You will have to jump in a taxi from the Jebel Ali Metro Stop to get to this oasis in the dusty no-man’s land of Jebel Ali. But its vast stretches of greenery, large refreshing outdoor pool and award- winning spa make it worthwhile. There’s also a wide range of activities, but, no matter what you do here, be sure to dine at Signatures. It wasn’t highly commended in this year’s Time Out awards for nothing.

2 Seaplane flights: Sightseeing on a tour bus is so last season. The Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa offers an aerial view of the Dubai coastline with Seawings: a seaplane that takes off and lands in the Jebel Ali Marina. From 15,000ft up, travellers get to view The Palm Jumeirah, The World and the Burj Dubai. It’s an incredible experience you will never forget.

3 Jebel Ali Golf Course: The ‘Golf’ part of the Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa is an impressive championship-standard, nine-hole par-36 course. It’s for professional or trained golfers only, although beginners can learn at the Golf Academy.

4 Dubai Motocross Club: What better use of the dirt and dust in Jebel Ali than to kick it up on two wheels. The Dubai Motocross Club has two tracks: the trickier of the two, the Senior Track, has manmade tabletops, step ups, whoops, drop-offs, rhythm sections and doubles (whatever all that may be), and the Junior Track – is for, well, juniors. Non-members can use the tracks to practise on, but all riders must obtain an FIM licence.

5 Shooting range: For those of you that have a passion for shooting (hopefully only under the watchful eyes of instructors), the Jebel Ali International Shooting Club, part of the Golf Resort & Spa, provides professional coaching in clay pigeon shooting and range shooting. If it’s bows that get you all a-quiver, the club offers a 5,000 sq m archery range, too.
