THE GARHOUD METRO STATION IN DUBAI IS NOT OPEN YET. KEEP CHECKING TIME OUT DUBAI FOR MORE DETAILS.

More Café: Other than being the 2009 Time Out Dubai winner for the best café, More is successful because of its unique, artsy appeal and lively interior design. There are scrumptious gourmet burgers presented on multi-tiered trays, huge sandwiches, consistently delicious eggs Benedict and a range of More ice creams to fill you to the brim.

The Party Centre: This one-of-a-kind store in Dubai sees people walking/floating out every day with what looks like 100 balloons in hand. The store also stocks costumes, gift boxes and wrapping and everything you need for any kind of kids’ party – whether they be a mini-superhero or princess.

Al Hallab: This Lebanese dining outlet is quite the favourite with the area’s locals. While the atmosphere and service are decent, it’s the food quality and cheap prices that are outstanding. Try the staples such as houmous, fattoush salad and mixed grills, all scooped up with hot, puffy Arabic bread.

Aviation Club: With 10 tennis courts, two squash courts, an outdoor pool and a state-of-the-art gym, Aviation Club is where the fit people are at. It also has classes ranging from ceroc to circuit training. However, tennis is really where the club comes into its own thanks to its nearby stadium, which holds the Dubai Tennis Championships every year, hosting stars such as Federer and Nadal.

Irish Village, Century Village and The Cellar: All part of the Aviation Club, Century Village houses numerous restaurants nestled in fairylight-strewn courtyards dotted with fountains, while The Cellar does a fantastic weekend a la carte brunch and the Irish Village’s tranquil setting by a duck pond, nightly entertainment and Irish bar staff make it a unique and ever-popular haunt. The gift shop is a nice addition, too – who doesn’t want a giant green Guinness hat?
