1. Deira City Centre Mall: There are plenty of bargains to be had at this mall, with Forever 21, Topshop and loads more high-street names on offer. Carrefour is the place to go for weekly groceries, or, if you get tired of shopping, you can always have a meal at one of the restaurants and catch a movie at the Cinestar cinema.

Noodle House: This Chinese restaurant remains as busy as ever, and there are simple reasons for that: the food is reliably good, service is cheery, the atmosphere is buzzing and prices are reasonable.

City Centre Hotel & Residence: On the first floor of Deira City Centre you’ll find an entrance to Sofitel, home to English-themed pub Churchill’s. Pretend you’re in London and kick back with a pint and a portion of fish and chips (or even a roast if you fancy). If your tastes are more varied, try La Cite, Sofitel’s international restaurant.

Park Hyatt Dubai: The Park Hyatt is a peaceful waterfront escape from the hustle and bustle of Dubai. Food-wise, choose from Traiteur, which has recently relaunched to offer delicious French cuisine; the tasty Thai Kitchen (which does a fantastic brunch); and the Terrace Bar, with its alfresco setting overlooking the harbour.

Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club: Offering a golf academy, nine-hole par-three course, and an 18-hole championship course, the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club has previously been voted one of the world’s Top 100 Must-Play Golf Resorts. Register online to book a tee time. We’d recommend you round off your golf game with a drink and a shisha at the club’s outdoor bar, QD’s, which looks out on the Creek.
