Hum along with the world’s highest fountain

When you talk about Grammy winners in Dubai it is probably when recalling concerts by the likes of Maroon 5, Amy Winehouse and Shakira. Did you know, however, that the musical accompaniment for the Dubai Fountain also picked up a musical gong at the prestigious awards? The song, Baba Yetu, was composed by Christopher Tin but is best known in the city as the Swahili accompaniment to the regular light and water shows alongside the Burj Khalifa. Next time you’re in the neighbourhood get out of the shops, take a seat at a café or a bench near the lakes and watch the stunning show. Shows start every 30 minutes and we think this is the most fun you can have with a jet of water powerful enough to shoot 500 feet into the air.
