This Monday December 2, the country will be looking back on another year of successes. The number of millionaires in the UAE is expected to grow by 13.5 percent by the end of 2013, taking the total to 54,600 according to a new report by WealthInsight (a global database of high net worth individuals), compared with 48,300 in 2012, while the country also jumped five places on this year’s Global Competitiveness Index (produced by international organisation World Economic Forum, which brings together businesses and politicians from all over the globe) to number 19. From hotels to parks, restaurants to shopping malls, we’ve seen a huge number of openings this year.
