JLT: The ultimate area guide

Where to eat, drink, shop and work out in emerging city suburb

As more cafés and shops open and roads become easier to navigate, Jumeirah Lakes Towers is thriving. Find out why it’s time to think about exploring the neighbourhood and maybe even moving in.

After several years of slow, steady construction, Jumeirah Lakes Towers is emerging as one of the most desirable places to live in the city. As well as having what we suspect might be the highest density of pizza outlets in any area of the city, drop in any day of the week and you’ll find residents rollerblading, cycling, jogging and strolling around the smooth promenades that line the lakes, and yet more kicking back in the dozens upon dozens of boutique eateries. These walkways not only provide welcome relief from the sometimes pedestrian-unfriendly road systems in some neighbourhoods, but the layout has also created a calm, almost serene space, insulated from Dubai’s frenetic pace. As you might be able to tell by now, we’ve fallen a little bit in love with it. Here, we reveal 36 of our favourite things to do in the neighbourhood that might just leave you feeling the same way.
