Where to get your Christmas tree

Nothing gets you in the spirit of Christmas than a good old sing song, mince pies, mulled beverages and a tree lighting ceremony. Here are some of the best around town this year.

Ritz-Carlton, DIFC
December 6
Traditionally one of the largest trees in town, the imposing Lobby Lounge tree is a floor-to-ceiling fir that will be switched on in the company of a school choir and festive treats.

St Regis Dubai
December 6

A five-metre tall tree takes centre stage in the lobby of this brand new hotel. Resplendent in gold, this will set the trend for what we can expect from the St Regis in 2016. Expect hot chocolate, mulled beverages and, for the children, gingerbread men.

JBR, Dubai (04 448 4848).

Shangri-La Dubai
December 8

A five-metre tree wants you to help decorate it. During the traditional tree lighting ceremony, guests will be asked to write their Christmas wish on the back of a star and hang it on the tree. Prizes are up for grabs.

Irish Village
December 8

Once again staking a claim for one of the biggest outdoor trees in the UAE, there will also be a full choir, mulled beverages and plenty of homemade goodies.
Century Village, Garhoud, Dubai (04 239 5000).

Warwick Hotel
December 9

Standing at almost four metres, the green, gold and red tree will be officially lit up in the company of Santa and William Warwick, while mulled beverages, hot chocolate and homemade cookies will be on offer during a performance by an in-house choir.
Sheikh Zayed Road (04 506 9600).
