The ice-cool entrepreneur owns Silk Gelato in Dubai Investments Park
How did your love for gelato come about?
After many years in stock markets I started feeling like I needed a big change. I didn’t want to deal with “intangible” products anymore, so my brother Nikolas and I attended many gelato courses at Carpigiani University [in Bologna, Italy], and then we came up with our own recipes.
What makes Silk Gelato stand out?
The fact that we deliver a top-notch product using fresh milk, real fruits and quality ingredients at a reasonable price. We also deliver custom-made flavours. Our clients’ demands are our wishes.
Which is your craziest creation?
We can make gelato with anything. Most chefs don’t consider savoury flavours, but we create feta cheese gelato, beetroot sorbet and many more…
What’s the best bit about your job?
Seeing the happiness in our customers’ faces when they taste something really good. And when they ask, “How did you manage to do that?”, even about a simple vanilla flavour.
