Becoming a furniture maker in Dubai

Time Out talks to Ben Swan to get information on becoming a furniture maker in Dubai

When did you first start working with wood?
When I was about ten years old. My grandfather gave me my first set of tools and taught me some basic techniques.

Tell us what your shop offers.

We create rustic furniture, from bespoke side tables to full commercial outfits. We work with a wide range of materials, obviously including wood, but also glass and metal.

Who are your favourite types of client?

People who are appreciative of creativity and those who trust us and our eye for design. We have many clients coming back time after time because of the relationship we have with them.

What’s the best thing you’ve made?

There are so many, so that’s a difficult question. But I can tell you that the most enjoyable part of making furniture is the finished product and the look on the customer’s face. All those man hours really pay off.
