The best yacht charter deals in Dubai

We round up the best-value yacht charters in Dubai for a fun day offshore

BE YOUR OWN CAPTAIN

Charter Click
This website has taken the concept of renting a yacht and stripped the process back to the simplest it could possibly be. Fill in the form saying when you want your boat trip, say how many of you will be heading on board, and for how long, and the team will generate a range of quotes depending on what size boat you’re after. It’s a crowd-sourced rental site, effectively. Charter Click provides the insurance, a professional captain, various services and facilities, and the boat is provided privately as a rental. Locations for pick-up and drop-off vary across the Dubai coastline, so you can find one that’s nearest to you, or travel a little to save a few dirhams on your big day out.
Boat length: 27ft
Capacity: 11
Price per hour: Dhs425
Cost per person per hour: Dhs38 (including captain).

The Captain’s Club
It regards itself as being the economical solution to actually owning a boat, and The Captain’s Club is for those who want to take boating seriously this year. With fees starting from Dhs1,725 per month, or Dhs18,000 per year for the Silver membership (plus joining fees), you can get unlimited access to a range of 40 boats including mini yachts, speedboats, fishing boats and liners that are ideal for wakeboarding. There’s even the odd pontoon in there, too. You’ll need to take a couple of days for training, which will give you an international license to captain around the world. Also, if your membership includes weekend access, The Captain’s Club says it fulfils a contractual obligation at its end to always make sure there’s availability on Thursdays and Fridays, if you want it. That’s 24-hour access, 365 days a year, so if you need to throw a last-minute soirée, you’re covered. Pick-up and drop-off takes place in Jumeirah Harbour in Dubai, or Emirates Palace and Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi.
Membership rates:
Silver: Dhs18,000 per year
Gold: Dhs24,900 per year
Smart: Dhs20,000 per year (for two memberships)
All memberships are subject to a Dhs7,000 one-off payment. 24-hour boat access, seven days a week, guaranteed, plus captain training.

Take the Gugu Boat, which is housed at Dubai Marina and even has its very own Tiki hut bar stationed on the upper deck. Alternatively, let the wind catch your sail in the catamaran – with its own on-board grill, indoor seating area and enough space for 50 guests among its front-end sundeck, lots of space on the upper deck and its own sound system so you can throw a great big soirée and party in style.

Gold’s Yacht
It calls itself “the best way to find and rent a yacht or a boat in Dubai”, so you’d expect Gold’s Yacht to have some pretty beastly vessels as well as some economical options. And so it does. One of the options available is a 220ft mega-yacht – in fact, you may have spotted the gigantic mega-yacht, Lotus, upon the azure waters of the Arabian Gulf. It’s actually massive so we’d be surprised if you hadn’t. With room for 500 people, there’s even a hot tub and a salon on board. If, however, you’re not looking for quite such an ostentatious display (and one that doesn’t cost Dhs12,500 per hour), a range of 34ft boats for fishing, as well as other sizes in between, are available at prices from as little Dhs400 per hour. You can also do a spot of jet-skiing, banana boating and flyboarding with these guys, too.
Boat length: 42ft
Capacity: 15
Number of cabins: Three
Price per hour: Dhs650
Cost per person per hour: Dhs43 (including captain and three crew).

Party Cruise Dubai

Not only can you get your big ’ole yachts, but this site also offers evening trips on the Al Wasl Dhow, which you might have seen sailing through the Dubai Marina area. The dhow trip includes a two-hour cruise from 8.30pm until 10.30pm every day, with welcome drinks on arrival, a buffet dinner, barbecue and live entertainment from a professional Tanoura dancer. Additionally, you can privately hire a range of boats and yachts and the one that really caught our eye is the 155ft Desert Rose, described simply as “party boat”. Sounds spot on to us. It’s big, it’s over-the-top and it’s got a massive party pool and hot tub included. See you on board?
Boat length: 55ft
Capacity: 22 guests
Number of cabins: Three
Price per hour: Dhs900
Cost per person per hour: Dhs40 (including captain and two crew).

Super Yacht Dubai

We’re bowled over by the very name of this company. Whether it’s a shared, private or corporate cruise, if your company happens to reward its staff with mammoth luxurious boat parties, Super Yacht Dubai offers up a range of vessels ready to take on your trip, as well as all the catering, entertainment, hospitality, watersports, decoration, photography, videography and transfers, which is exactly what you’d expect from a premium yacht lender. Also, depending on your fishing preferences, you can get out there and go either ledgering or trolling for your catch (the former being static fishing, while the latter is the technique for catching bigger fish by keeping your boat constantly moving and hoping for your catch to bite on a plastic fish bait). Super Yacht Dubai has boats designed for both types of fishing, so take your pick.
Boat length: 44ft
Capacity: Ten
Number of cabins: Two
Price per hour: Dhs850
Cost per person per hour: Dhs85 (including captain and crew).

And its premiumness is obvious. Get a huge yacht, VIP hostesses and security, photographers, plus special cakes, balloons and decorations, a red carpet for your arrival, transfers, catering and even your own DJ to make it a knock-out soirée. Where do we sign up? Alternatively, go down a slightly more modest route and rent yourself a little five-person speedboat, which is ideal for a day chilling on the water with a cool box and some fishing rods.
