Time Out announces the Ministry of Labour have declared Thursday December 24 a public holiday in the UAE, to mark the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Thursday December 24 has been declared a public holiday to mark the occasion of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The Ministry of Labour made the announcement on Sunday afternoon, making it clear the holiday affected both the public and private sector.

Last year the occasion was marked on January 3.
