Just days after construction work on Six Flags Dubai kicked off, it seems more and more likely that the iconic theme park could also be home to some of the world’ first virtual reality rides.
Technology giants Samsung have partnered up with the theme park franchise in the US to offer thrill seekers the chance to use their Samsung Gear VR and Oculus in tandem with their rollercoasters.
Called the New Revolution Virtual Reality Coaster, the ride comes equipped with wireless headsets that make the high resolution imagery and 360-degree view of the ‘glasses’ even more real, not to mention the high speeds, twists and turns of the ride itself.
Let us paint you a picture: the rollercoaster sets off and you’re suddenly transported to a city under attack by aliens in which you’re riding around in a spaceship. How cool does that sound?

So far we know that Six Flags park will house 27 rides across six themed zones: Thrillseeker Plaza, Magic Mountain, Fiesta Texas, Great Escape, Great Adventure, and Great America.
Renderings made available to Time Out in May show detailed images of sky-high towers, looping roller coasters and much more.
Dubai Parks and Resorts, which is scheduled to open in October 2016, will also include Motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai and Legoland Dubai.
