Dubai Police will ride newest Kawasaki bikes

Time Out reports that Dubai Police will ride newest Kawasaki bikes, adding them to a fleet which includes Chevrolet and Ferrari super cars

In Dubai, the long arm of the law patrols the city's streets in some of the newest, fastest and coolest rides in the world.

The most recent additions to the fleet are 24 Kawasaki Concours 1400GTR sport touring motorcycles.

Spray-painted in Dubai Police colours and customised to suit law enforcement duties, the bikes were supplied by exclusive UAE Kawasaki dealer Liberty Automobiles.

Costing around $15,500 according to the Japanese manufacturer’s website, the Concours 14 has a powerful 1,352cc supersport engine and gets its name from its aesthetic appeal, having taken part in numerous motor shows, Concours d’Elegance in French.

The purchase could also be seen as a birthday gift as July 19th marks the 60th anniversary of Dubai police.

In case you were wondering what other vehicles Dubai police get to drive around, here are three fine examples:

Dubai police regularly makes headlines at home and abroad for putting some seriously futuristic gear to the test.

Last year there was speculation officers would use jetpacks to patrol the streets (and skies) and only last April a police official confirmed robot cops will be used to carry out on-the-ground duties during Expo 2020.

The documentary below by Dubai-based film production company GTV will tell you everything you need to know about Dubai Police, widely recognised as one of the modern police forces in the world.
