Dubai’s upcoming residential areas just seem to be getting greener and more lifestyle-focused every day that passes.
We’ve had the unveiling of Sustainable City, heard talk about a flower-shaped eco-neighbourhood called Desert Rose City and been inspired by the prospect of a highly pedestrianized community in Dubai South.
Nakheel’s Jebel Ali Gardens ticks all these ‘easy living’ boxes as well. In total, the mega developer will build 42 towers that will house 40,000 people in nearly 10,000 apartments.
Its biggest sell? One fifth of the upcoming neighbourhood will be made up of landscaped parks, 1.1million square feet of lush vegetation to be exact.
There will also be a two-kilometre jogging track, swimming pools, football fields and tennis and basketball courts. Jebel Ali Gardens is designed for people wanting quality, affordable accommodation and convenient community facilities, so it could end up being a similar alternative to The Greens & The Views.
A construction tender will be released in the first quarter of 2017 and the whole project is expected to be completed by the start of 2020.
The 42 buildings, ranging from 18 to 29 floors, will include one to three bedroom apartments. Each will feature a gym with panoramic views over the landscaped grounds. There will also be a ground-floor retail area so that residents can just pop downstairs to do their grocery shopping.
The most recent news is that Nakheel has tasked six Dubai-based, Emirati-led companies to oversee the design and construction supervision of the sprawling development.
