Eid Al Adha holiday for public sector announced

Time Out has news of the Eid Al Adha holiday for public sector announced. Sheikh Mohammed confirmed on Twitter it will run from September 11 to 18

The UAE has announced public sector workers will be excused from work for the week beginning September 11, as part of Eid Al Adha which begins on September 12.

Details were confirmed by Sheikh Mohammed on Twitter, although nothing was revealed about plans for the private sector.

The announcement means the public sector offices, from DEWA to RTA, will be closed for a week.

Eid Al Adha normally starts on the 10th of Dhu Al Hijjah, when millions of Muslims converge on Makkah for the annual pilgrimage.

Those enjoying the holiday will likely be able to benefit from extended mall opening hours, as has become custom in recent years.
