Video of whale shark in Dubai from Team Angel Wolf

Time Out has a video of whale shark in Dubai from Team angel Wolf family. See the wild whale shark in the Arabian Gulf, at Open Beach in Jumeirah

A brilliant new video showing a Dubai family swimming with a whale shark in shallow water has gone viral on Facebook.

Posted on social media over the weekend, the two-minute clip by Team Angel Wolf shows Dad Nick Watson ducking and diving around with the six-metre long 'fish'.

Taken during a family trip to Open Beach (across the road from Mercato Mall in Jumeirah) on Wednesday September 14, it is a highlights package of what was an hour-long interaction.

Whale sharks are becoming increasingly common around Dubai, with the most famous recent example coming last August when one was spotted in Dubai Marina.

The big fish are totally harmless to humans, and the footage posted this week showed their playful side.

Viewed over 16,000 times on their page, it is one of the more intimate portraits of these beautiful polka-dot creatures of the deep.

Team Angel Wolf are also known as The Watsons; Dad Nick, Mum Delphine, and son Rio, who carries a rare chromosome disorder called 1q44 deletion denovo syndrome.

The family are regular participants in sporting events across the UAE, and are determined to spread awareness about Rio's condition. The Team Angel Wolf, including Rio, competes in fitness competitions all year round and are doing their bit to promote integration of children with special needs within the United Arab Emirates.
