17kg tin of caviar, world’s biggest, unveiled at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah

Time Out has details on the 17kg tin of caviar, world’s biggest, unveiled at Burj Al Arab, a new Guinness World Record

We know what you’re thinking. If this was going to be unveiled anywhere, it was going to be in Dubai.

The team behind iconic hotel Burj Al Arab has teamed up with high-end US caviar company AmStur to present this ginormous gold-plated tin, packed to the brim with the so-called food of the Czars.

17 kilograms of deep-grey Empress caviar, the world’s only fully certified organic caviar from native-raised sturgeon, ensured that this lavish record was broken.

The custom-made tin itself has been named “The Mashenomak” in honour of the “Great White Sturgeon” of Native American legend.

And if you were hoping to pop down to Burj Al Arab for a taste of this delicatessen, assuming there was enough to go around the whole of Dubai, we’re afraid there’s none left!

All the guests at the presentation had the chance to partake in another record - the world’s largest serving of caviar.

Using custom-engraved mother-of-pearl spoons, produced to commemorate the occasion, they ate all 17kg in one delicious sitting.

An official adjudicator from GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS was present at the event and confirmed that the guidelines were all adhered to for both record-breaking titles.
