CATS to perform at Dubai International Airport

One-off show to wow passengers at DXB

Who said waiting around at your departure gate was boring? On Tuesday January 24, those flying out through Dubai International Airport will be treated to a purr-formance from the cast of CATS.

Stars of the smash-hit Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, including Joanna Ampil who plays Grizabella in the Dubai Opera production, will bring you some pre-flight entertainment as part of #musicDXB, the airport’s ongoing initiative.

The stars will play two live shows – at 1pm at the B-Gates and 2.15pm at the A-Gates – belting out some of the numbers that have made CATS such a worldwide phenomenon.

And Ampil can’t wait to get her claws into the unique gig.

“I’m really excited because [the performance] is going to be taken out of context – because we’re not doing the actual show and I’ll be dressed up as me!” she says.

“So it’s going to be slightly different but it’s always exciting to do something like this because it breaks the monotony of doing the same thing every time and we look forward to it.”

And we’ve got a feline tomorrow’s DXB travellers will love it, too…
