It seems like yesterday that Dubai Opera first opened its doors, but the iconic theatre house has already reached 100 performances since August.
To celebrate, it’s offering a limited selection of 100 fils (Dhs1) tickets to see Puccini’s tragic masterpiece La Bohème this weekend.
Since opening, Dubai Opera has welcomed more than 100,000 to watch shows ranging from famous Broadway musicals, to rock music, classic operas, contemporary dance and ballet.
La Bohème – which is based on Henri Murger’s Scenes de la Vie de Bohème, about bohemians living in the Latin Quarter of Paris in the 1840s – will be performed by the Welsh National Opera, and the 3pm show on Saturday March 11 marks the 100th.
“We’ve enjoyed incredible support from audiences since we opened our doors six months ago and we didn’t want to let the 100th show pass in the Year of Giving without making our own contribution in thanks,” says Dubai Opera’s Chief Executive, Jasper Hope.
“We have worked hard since we opened to ensure that Dubai Opera is accessible to all with a range of price points, and tickets and this special offer is a chance for absolutely anyone to enjoy premium seats at a world-class venue for one of the most-loved operas of all time, for just one dirham per person.”
The tickets go on sale today (Wednesday March 8) at 3.45 pm. To be in with the chance to get some for yourself, visit the Dubai Opera website.
