Careem launches delivery service

Dubai ride-hailing app introduces phase 1 of BOX service

Around Town

Dubai’s private ride-hailing app Careem has launched the first phase of brand-new delivery service, BOX. Careem said the launch follows a trend in consumer habits, noting many customers use its app to deliver items between locations, adding that the new service is a more affordable and convenient way to transport possessions and documents.

BOX promises in-app tracking, allowing customers to see exactly where their packages are – the same technology used by customers to track their car journeys with the company.

The service is available daily from 8am to 8pm, with base fares starting at Dhs6. The minimum fare for instant pick-up is Dhs20, and Dhs30 for scheduled jobs.

Pick-ups can only currently be done in Dubai, but packages can be delivered as far as Sharjah.
