South African comedy legend Barry Hilton is coming back to the Middle East for a one-night-only gig at the Mövenpick Hotel in JBR on Thursday June 29.
The comedy veteran has racked up a 30-year career in the business, and is widely considered to be one of Africa’s greatest stand-up comedians, so his arrival in the UAE will be a must-see for comedy fans.
Hilton was last in the city back in 2013, for which he was shortlisted by Time Out Dubai for best comedy act, alongside John Cleese.
Looking a little further back, Hilton was the first South African comic to perform at the Comedy Store in London back in 2001, and again at the Sydney Comedy Store in 2011. His wide-ranging experience in comedy has also seen him tour Asia, including gigs in Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau and Shanghai – a tricky undertaking for stand-up comedians.
With decades of experience, Hilton’s visit to Dubai is a night not to be missed. Tickets are available from www.thelaughterfactory.com.
From Dhs185. Thu June 29, 9pm. Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach, The Walk, Jumeirah Beach Residence, www.thelaughterfactory.com.
