Careem launches app-free ride-hailing service

Careem On Call doesn’t need a smartphone, the app or a Careem account

Ride-hailing app Careem has announced the launch of a new service, which doesn’t require users to download the app or set up an account.

Careem On Call works with businesses across the city to set up a unique location identification number for the company premises, and targets Dubai visitors who are only going to take the odd journey while stopping over in town.

It is designed to target businesses who frequently need to book taxis for their visitors, and gives a unique number for guests to call in order to book a ride. The guest is then sent the driver’s registration plate and mobile number, and pays in cash for the ride.

More than 100 businesses and locations have signed up to Careem On Call already, which is free for businesses, so whether you’re at a conference up at the Dubai World Trade Centre, spending a chilled day down at Zero Gravity, or been hitting the gyms, trampoline parks and cafés of Al Quoz, you’ll be able to get a ride.
