Dubai Police have issued a reminder to Dubai residents that traffic fines occurring from 2016 or before are still subject to a 50 percent discount for all drivers before the end of 2017.
According to Gulf News, Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, director of traffic department at Dubai Police, encouraged Dubai drivers to make the most of the offer before the end of the year.
“Dubai traffic fines occurring in 2016 or before, are now subject to 50 percent discount if paid by the end of 2017,” he said. “The 50 percent reduction in fines does not cover violations committed in 2017.”
Dubai Police say repaying old fines is quick and easy to do, especially while the discount offer applies. The 50 percent discount offer, which was issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has been available from July 1, and was launched as part of 2017’s Year of Giving initiative.
To arrange payment of any outstanding fines, head to an RTA centre, through UAE banks or take advantage of a variety of alternative methods, including online payment of fines.
“Dubai Police will offer various means to facilitate the payment of fine, through the traffic department and all police and car registration centres as well as kiosks in all commercial centres,” Al Mazroui said.
If you’ve been meaning to pay off any outstanding fines, now is your chance to do so quickly, easily and with a 50 percent discount.
