Dubai Motor Show returns

Supercars descend on Dubai for the Dubai Motor Show, running until November 18

Calling all petrol heads, supercar lovers and serious car buyers – the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show is now in full swing.

If you haven’t grabbed your ticket already, then there’s still time. The show kicked off on Tuesday November 14 and runs until Saturday 18. It is being billed by organisers as the “biggest, best and most action-packed” event in the show’s 28-year history.

The 14th edition of the largest international automotive event across the Middle East returns at full throttle with more than 600 cars on show from around 150 of the world’s most renowned manufacturers, across 85,000 sq m of exhibition space.

Visitors can expect everything from SUVs and sedans to supercars, customised motorbikes and the latest in car tech and automotive lifestyle.

And here’s the good bit – you won’t just be looking wistfully at these mean machines, you will actually be able to ride in them.

Strap yourself in and hold on tight as an expert drift driver from the Prodrift Academy skillfully drifts the car around hair-raising bends at smoke-raging, wheel-spinning speed. This exciting show feature offers visitors a real experience of the skillful – and thrilling - art of drifting in a safe environment.

There is even a “Touch a Truck” competition with Toyota, where the last person with one hand still on the truck drives away with the vehicle.

You will also be able to refuel with freshly-made pizzas and enjoy some live jazz, or listen to a talk from a range of automotive industry experts for some insight into the latest in automotive innovations.

And with a host of other family-friendly activities and a dedicated supercar zone, it will be foot down and full steam ahead.
