Huge season opener at The Beach in JBR

Big eats, entertainment, outdoor cinema and more from November 10 to 11

Now that the winter season is in full swing and everyone’s geared up for spending time in the great outdoors once more, it’s time to head down to The Beach opposite JBR for a weekend of fun activities, games, food, and even an outdoor cinema.

On Friday November 10 and Saturday 11, head down to Meraas’ beachfront destination for its official season opening weekend. Get your beach bag ready, stock up on sun cream, roll up your beach towels and head down for a selection of beach games, a giant picnic and a huge stage featuring a line-up of entertainment, plus tonnes more.

There will be three interactive zones based around distinct themes – taste, enjoy and play, with each one filled with the sort of activities you’d expect.

Pick up some grub from one of the many food and beverage outlets found at The Beach, which will be serving from wooden carts on the beach, in what will effectively be a giant picnic. Expect outlets like Pots, Pans & Boards, Retro Feasts, Poco Loco, Bombay Bungalow, Morelli’s Gelato and Shake Shack, plus more.

Keep the kids entertained in the play area, which has activities and games planned for three distinct age groups. Soft play and giant inflatables for kids between one and three years old. Giant Jenga and arts and crafts for four to eight year olds, and there’s something a bit more adrenaline-fuelled for teenagers and adults – think bungee runs, Wipe Out-inspired obstacles and more challenges testing stamina and strength.

Around the beach will be hundreds of colourful bean bags facing the huge stage which will feature performances from 2pm until 11pm every day, including magic, bubble and puppet shows, plus a range of fashion shows from the retailers found around The Beach.

For something a bit more relaxed, head to the outdoor movie screenings by Roxy Cinema, showing some brilliant movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and Madagascar.
