Dry day announced for Dubai

24-hour dry period across the emirate on November 30

A communication issued by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has confirmed there will be a dry day across Dubai next week.

From 5pm on Thursday November 30 until 6pm on Friday December 1, bars and restaurants throughout Dubai will not be serving alcohol – which means all brunches will be cancelled or rescheduled – and nightclubs will not open.

Public sector workers are to get a four-day weekend from Thursday November 30 through to Sunday December 3, as the public holiday for the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and UAE National Day coincide, though no official announcement has yet been made on what days the private sector will have off.
