Announced: 50 percent discount on UAE traffic fines

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince announced the gesture to mark the 46th national day in the UAE

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered a 50 percent discount on traffic fines across the country.

The Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces announced the gesture in the in the spirit of the UAE National Day, according to news agency WAM.

He directed the Ministry of Interior to coordinate with all traffic and licensing departments across the country to reduce by 50 percent all traffic and impoundment fines nationwide.

The news agency said the reduction will be on fines incurred up until December 2, 2017, and fines must be paid within three months to avail the discount.
