We recently reported the pending arrival of a swanky new pop-up bar hitting JBR for the remaining winter months. Now, Time Out Dubai has had an exclusive first look inside The Garden, a three-month project run by DXBExperiments – the same lot that put together the outdoor cinema experience back in November and December.

In short, this winter-only bar looks awesome. It’s all outside, as you’d expect, so it’s full of greenery, plants, and exposed filament light bulbs (so just wait for sunset). There’s even a 100-year-old olive tree, as well as chilli trees, and guava, mandarin and lemon trees to boot.

Open tonight (Tuesday February 6) until late April, it’s largely based around what the organisers are calling a “lush urban oasis”, open through three of winter’s most enjoyable months.

Tuesdays are all about “The Potting Shed” – think ploughman’s ingredients packed into a terracotta pot, so we’re gunna be down there with bells on for some tasty breads, cheeses, pickles and a bottle of mixed drink – all available for Dhs90 per pot.

Open Tuesday to Thursday each week, Wednesday nights are all about live jazz and music, with a full band playing on stage and a range of activities being put on. Thursday has got a set of alternative games and a full programme of activities to be announced soon.

This place is well worth a visit, so head down and don’t miss it while it’s in town.
Free entry. Tue-Thu 6pm-11pm. Until April 27. Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa, JBR, https://www.facebook.com/DXBExperiments/.
