New luxury coaches will travel between Dubai and Abu Dhabi

They’ll have free internet and USB sockets

It’s about to get a lot more comfortable to travel between Dubai and Abu Dhabi by bus.

Transport officials have revealed the stylish coaches that will ferry passengers between the two cities from next year.

You can use a free internet service and charge your mobile with inbuilt USB sockets.

Or sit back and relax with a comfortable footrest and cup holder to place your bottle of water or soda.

Even better, it'll still cost just Dhs25 each way, and you can pay using your Nol card.

Each of the new vehicles will hold 55 passengers and will have a hydraulic lift for people of determination with wheelchairs.

It’s part of a new scheme by the Roads and Transport Authority, which will add 316 new buses to Dubai’s fleet.

They’ll be used to go between the city and other surrounding areas such as Abu Dhabi.

Costing Dh465million, it will see 143 new deluxe intercity coaches, 79 double-deckers and 94 medium-sized urban buses.

Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of the Board of Executive Directors and director-general of RTA, said: “The procurement of the new buses is part of a master plan set out to upgrade mass transit systems in Dubai and keep them aligned with the best global practices.”

It forms part of a push to improve public transport networks in the UAE.

We can’t wait to see what they look like.
