Who said your Nol card could only be used for transportation? There are 5,000 other reasons to take that card out of your pocket.
Dubai Municipality has revealed that the payment service, commonly used for transportation like the metro and buses, can now be used in thousands of locations across the city.
Along with public parks, Nol cards can also be used in a range of restaurants and coffee shops, petrol stations, pharmacies, supermarkets, stores, and some clinics.
The move to increase the functionality of the cards was first implemented back in 2017, when the service made it mandatory to use the card to get into public parks.
Parks now have a smart gate system for people to swipe their cards to pay to get in.
These include Al Mamzar Beach Park, Mushrif Park, Creek Park and Zabeel Park, which hosts the popular organic food market, The Ripe Market.
Silver and gold cards can have maximum purse of Dhs1,000, while the blue personalised Nol card can have up to Dhs5,000.
There are loads of other ways your Nol card could come in handy now.
Don’t have enough change for a taxi ride home? Don’t fret, as over 8,000 cabs across Dubai now use the system.
Keep an eye out for the 1,000 retailers accepting the service, too, including Zoom, Burger King and Circle K. Give it a try.
