New Burj Khalifa light show launches

Check out the spectacular display in Dubai until May 31

We’ve seen the tallest building in the world illuminated for Light Up 2018, but now we’re getting a taste of something new.

Dubai’s Burj Khalifa has unveiled a performance by Britain’s Got Talent stars Freelusion. If you’ve seen their work before, you’ll know just how marvellous their light shows can be.
The Hungarian 3D troupe made it to the semi-finals of the hit TV show in 2013, using their unique routine of video mapping technology and dancing.
Judge Simon Cowell even went so far as to describe their performances as “like looking ten years in the future”. They will definitely find a fitting home in Dubai then.

Now they’ve made it on the face of Dubai’s most towering structure, and it’s all thanks to the Burj Khalifa’s LED Open Call competition.

Freelusion won’t be the only winners though, as nine other victors will have their work shown on the building’s façade, so be prepared for some more creative masterpieces.

The troupe did win for a very good reason. Here’s a little taste of what you’re in for.

Pretty good right? Expect that kind of show when you head down to Downtown Dubai after sunset from now until Thursday May 31. Exact timings haven't yet been released, so it's worth keeping an eye on the Burj Khalifa website.

The world’s tallest building has been a canvas for brilliant shows, including Neon and Strides, and lighting up for Adele and even for the Avengers.
Free. Nightly until Thursday May 31. Burj Khalifa, Downtown Dubai. For more information, go to
