Play giant Monopoly for a chance to win Dhs100,000

Roll the dice at MAF shopping malls around Dubai

Around Town

Are you that person who always seem to nab the blue properties in every Monopoly game, taking everybody else’s cash? Well now you might stand a chance of winning more than just gloating rights.

Giant Monopoly has made a return to Dubai’s Majid Al Futtaim malls, and it’s presenting the chance for customers to win up to Dhs100,000 for participating. That will give you some incentive to play.

Fancy taking the chance? You can check out the massive board games at Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira and City Centre Mirdif.

To play the game, shoppers will have to exchange their receipts of Dhs300 for a token at the malls’ customer service desks. Participants will be playing for smile points – with the one who gains the most points is crowned victor.

To win that grand prize, visitors need to spend Dhs600 at Mall of the Emirates or Dhs500 at City Centre Mirdif to play.

Other rewards will be up for grabs, including Dhs100 mall gift cards and Dhs500 for winners of each game.

New social media elements have been added, too. Players will be asked to take a selfie when they land on a specific square to get more points. Prepare the selfie sticks.

Mr Monopoly himself and other characters will keep everyone entertained while waiting for their turn to play.

Each shopper can play up to four times a day from noon to 10pm on weekdays and noon to 11.30pm on weekends.

It's already proving to be a popular event, but it only lasts until Tuesday May 15, so make sure to get shopping and roll those giant dice.
From Dhs500. Until May 15. Sun-Thu noon-10pm, Fri-Sat noon-11.30pm. Mall of the Emirates, Al Barsha (04 409 9000). City Centre Deira, Deira (04 295 1010). City Centre Mirdif, Mirdif (04 602 3000).
