Following the announcement that La Mer’s brand-new waterpark is getting ready to open, it has now been confirmed that Laguna Waterpark will be open for its first day on Saturday May 12.
We can’t wait to dip our toes in the water of this brilliant new site, which is a major part of La Mer’s completion.
With four distinct zones, half a dozen standalone rides, flumes and slides, a licensed restaurant and bar, a lazy river, an infinity pool and the region’s first ever 180-degree surf park, Laguna is not just another waterpark to the city’s already impressive selection.
Day passes for Laguna start from just Dhs99 for residents (who book online), with on-the-door entry priced at Dhs129. Tourists can visit for Dhs159, which is still a seriously affordable rate.
Entry for the day means you’ll also be able to come and go as you please from the waterpark until the end of the day – meaning you can go and explore the wonderful La Mer in all its glory (and there’s an awful lot to do, from super-cool bars, to zany ice cream parlours, jazz nights and a whole bunch of other places to eat.
"Laguna Waterpark will bring something new to Dubai in terms of an accessible waterpark that is at the heart of a vibrant beachfront community,” said Andrew Keeling, general manager of leisure and entertainment assets at Meraas.
“Everything about it is designed to be easy, and the fact that you’ll be able to play or relax at Laguna, as well as take advantage of the whole La Mer experience, means you can tailor a day out depending on your mood”.
So whether you’re in the mood for rides that plummet you at more than 60kph, family rafts that drop you four metres into the water, lazy river rides or if you fancy learning to surf, you’ve got a brand-new place to head to this weekend.
From Dhs99 (UAE residents booking online), Dhs125 (residents, on the door), Dhs159 (non-residents). Open daily 10am-sunset. La Mer Central, Jumeirah 1, www.lagunawaterpark.com.
