Dubai is getting another dancing fountain

The Dhs66 million choreographed project will be located at Palm Jumeirah

The Dubai Fountain, one of the biggest tourist attractions in Downtown, is about to get a little sister – but they'll be quite the distance apart.

The Palm Jumeirah will soon open a brand-new dancing fountain featuring choreographed shows for the entertainment of residents and tourists.

The Dhs66 million project will be placed at The Pointe, one of Nakheel’s newly developed seafront dining and entertainment hotspots.

Beijing Water Design, one of China’s largest fountain specialists, will be designing the fountain, which will cover 12,000 square metres at the tip of the island.

Nakheel chairman Ali Rashid Lootah said: “Today’s signing is a major milestone for The Pointe as it means work on its centrepiece – the fountain – is now underway.

“We are one step closer to delivering this eagerly-anticipated destination.”

If you aren’t too familiar with The Pointe, it’s a 1.5km promenade that features nearly 70 restaurants, shops and attractions, along with a dine-in cinema, supermarket and plenty of gyms.

The dancing fountain will be opening in the fourth quarter of this year, and we eagerly await its launch.

We’ll gladly head down to dance along to the swaying showers of water when it officially opens.

In the meantime, we’ll ogle at the Burj Khalifa’s brand-new LED light show, that’s supposedly out of this world.
