Du is giving everyone high-speed internet for Eid

More than 400 WiFi hotspots around the UAE will get a boost

Eid al-Fitr is a time of celebration and to connect with friends and family, no matter where they are in the world.

So to make things easier, Du is offering free high-speed internet access across the UAE.

Until Monday June 18, more than 400 hotspots around the country will receive a significant speed boost, including places such as Dubai Metro, bus stations, The Walk, Emaar Boulevard in Downtown Dubai and plenty more across Dubai.

The best part? It’s completely free of charge, and all you need to do is connect to the WiFi UAE network. Whether it’s a quick message to meet up with someone or a phone call home, expect it all at a faster rate.

Du stated that the speed will be ten times faster than regular rates.

The bump up in internet speed is all part of the Dubai-based company’s Keep On Giving campaign, which encourages everyone to do good for their community.

Deputy CEO of parent company EITC Fahad Al Hassawi said: “The initiative of providing complimen-tary higher speed wifi this Eid is yet another demonstration of our staunch support of the UAE gov-ernment in achieving country-wide WiFi access.”

The WiFi UAE connection has been providing users with free internet at designated spots since it was set up in 2015.

So what else will be free over the weekend? Roads and Transport Authority announced that drivers won’t have to pay a Dirham for parking in public spaces for four days.

With all that free wifi we can imagine the amount of people that will be sending footage of the the special Eid firework show to whoever isn’t at Dubai Festival City Mall.

So, if you’re running low on data, Du has you covered this weekend.

The break will last from Monday August 20 until Wednesday August 22

Eid is expected to fall on Tuesday August 21 and run until Friday August 24
