Free Uber rides when you give blood in Dubai

The car service will drop you off and pick you up at donation centres

The good folks at Uber are making it easier for people in Dubai to give blood with free rides to and from the nearest donation centre.

The Giving is in your Blood campaign has been launched to celebrate World Blood Donor Day and is aimed at combating the shortage of blood donations in the region.

The initiative kicks off today (Sunday June 17) and will end on Sunday June 24. It aims to give reliable transport to people travelling to and from the blood donation centres.

All you need to do is enter the promo code IFRCDubai when calling your Uber and your fare will be waived for the journey.

The blood donation centres are situated in Al Jaddaf and at Umm Al Quwain Hospital and are operated by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

We recently told you about a change in Uber fares in Dubai in a move that will see some fares rise and others fall.

Base journey fees will now differ based on the day of the week and the time, ranging from Dhs5.40 to Dhs10.6. This could change during public holidays, but Uber would not reveal the specific details of what times and days the prices will rise and fall.
