Gallery hop on Al Serkal Avenue

Not long ago, it was little more than the home to warehouses, car workshops and storage space. Fast forward a few years and Al-Serkal Avenue is now firmly established as the place to go for many of the city’s up-and-coming art galleries. Visit Gallery Isabelle Van Den Eynde, a contemporary art gallery with a strong Iranian presence (04 353 5052); Mojo Gallery, a design studio that features a roster of quirky artists (04 347 7388); Ayyam gallery, which represents a fantastic range of artists from the Levant (04 323 6242) and Carbon 12 which has a contemporary European focus (050 464 4392).
