Out and about with Hatty Pedder

Dubai-based artist attends Objects of Desire show

1/2

Artist Hatty Pedder shares her latest blog illustrations, inspired by Dubai’s creative scene

What: ‘Objects of Desire’, an interior designer event featuring Commercial Interior Design’s 100 objects of desire for 2013.
Where: Mussawir Art Gallery, Al Quoz.
When: Wednesday May 15 2013.

We saw: A wide range of spectacular interior items. I was obsessed with the witty Baccarat ‘Marie Coquine’ floor lamp by Philippe Stark.

The vibe: Very artsy, glamorous and relaxed.

The guests: For the first time I didn’t know anyone apart from my good friend Lily Eskandari. The crowd was made up of architects, designers and chic industry types.

The dress: Sophisticated and professional-looking.

Best overheard statement: ‘I feel like I’m in the matrix…’ Anonymous.

Inking subject: Time Out’s Art & Culture editor Jenny Hewett. As soon as I saw her edgy hair cut, I knew I wanted to ink her at some point. She looks fierce!
