The third solo exhibition of surreal paintings from Austrian artist Philip Mueller is an exploration of universal themes, such as where do we come from and where are we going?

Patrice Palacio
Taking its origins from cubism, Patrice Palacio’s fragmental art is a concept he developed with well-known ceramicist Xavier Llongeras. Palacio’s first presentation includes a unique portrait of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

P Gnana
A collaboration with online gallery Kobo, Scafa restaurant will be exhibiting a selection of Gnana’s paintings. From Singapore, Gnana is fascinated with collage, the process of building layers of ideas and the evolution of thoughts. The pictures on display will be changed every three weeks. Ongoing.

The Shadows Collection
A collection of richly coloured Arab-inspired abstract calligraphy by Syrian artist Helen Abbas, the exhibition includes 18 original pieces that have not been released before and which reflect the transient nature of life. Ongoing. Media One Hotel, Dubai Media City (04 427 1000).

Mégatours: toujours plus haut!
Mega towers: higher and higher! Designed by Parisian collective Universcience, this exhibition explores the possibility of skyscrapers, their desirability and covers the construction of a ‘mega’ skyscraper which began this year in Jeddah and is set to be more than 1km high.

Demolition
Iranian artist Fereydoon Omididi’s solo calligraphy exhibition is a showcase of his hypnotic art, where he uses repetition of letters to achieve a rhythmic, dance-like quality to his paintings. The large-scale homages to Persian art are created through his layering of oils on the canvas.

Resonating Script
This show is a celebration of the rhythmic vibrancy of calligraphic art. The works will showcase the creations of nine contemporary artists, who each provide a new and inspiring take on the popular genre in the region.
