Return to Abstraction
The solo show of Asaad Arabi, a contemporary Arab painter and acclaimed art theorist, focuses on lyrical abstraction. Subtle tones emerge out of his urbanist landscapes, translating into an almost audible musicality.

The World is but a Moment
Photographer Peter Sanders’ new collection ‘The World is but a Moment’ is on show at Raffles Salon, located on the lobby level of Raffles Dubai, in partnership with The Empty Quarter Gallery and Habibi Communications. The exhibition comprises ten large-scale original pieces of Sanders’ most refined images taken over the last 30 years.

Masters of Art Summer Exhibition
Opera Gallery's summer show features a range of works presented throughout the year. Highlights include masterpieces from iconic artists Pablo Picasso, Renoir, Buffet, Bettoro and contemporary graffiti artist SEEN, French photographer Rancinan, French painter Brasilier and sculptor Mauro Corda, as well as Argentinean painter Antonio Segui.

Summer Painting Sessions

Calligraphy Whispers Art Exhibition
The exhibition features classical and modern-style Arabic calligraphy by Salah Shaheen, a digital calligrapher and an Islamic geometry artist. The show highlights the important role of integrating this art form – part of Arabian heritage and culture – with modern artistic expressions.

Constructing Portraits
This photography exhibition showcases images and professional portraits captured by volunteers of Gulf Photo Plus, which will then be gifted to individuals from the labour force based in Al Quoz. The project hopes to bring together UAE residents from all walks of life, beyond the boundaries of nationality, language and job description.

Blank Pages of an Iranian Photo Album
This photography exhibition features recent works by Iranian artist Newsha Tavakolian, winner of the 5th Carmignac Gestion Photojournalism Award. The self-taught artist has covered the war in Iraq, regional conflicts, natural disasters and has made social documentaries. The works reveal the artist’s family photo album, which showcases life in Iran for her generation.

19th Century Antiques’ exhibition
The gallery has teamed up with Al Nafoorah restaurant at Jumeirah Emirates Towers to put on an exhibition of pieces that show the beauty of Arabian culture and heritage. Pieces on show include oil paintings and bronzes by renowned artists Pierre-Jules Mêne and Louis Auguste Hiolin. Daily noon-3.30pm, 7pm-11.30pm. Until October 1. Vahid Jafarnejad's paintings are both horrific and comic. In his works, horror and the grotesque pervade the human face. The concept of identity is at the heart of his paintings; whether it is the search for his own or questioning those that have shaped his life.
