There are bloomin’ loads of activities for kids to get involved with at Art Dubai this year, thanks to children’s charity START. The charity, which helps underprivileged and disabled children express themselves through art, has put together an impressive schedule of free workshops so the little ’uns can discover their inner Tracey Emin. Actually, maybe that wouldn’t be such a good thing. Let’s not tempt fate. How about Claude Monet?
Well, artistic differences aside, there are great opportunities on offer like painting with French/Indian artist Sacha Jafri, who is deemed good enough to have had his pieces commissioned and collected by Prince Albert of Monaco, and learning the art of filmmaking with Elhum Shakerifar. Shakerifar has worked with the British Film Institute and will be teaching your young apprentices to make a documentary at the fair, which they can later watch. Places for workshops are limited, and are open to those aged three to 18, so RSVP as quick as you can. Outside of workshop times, children are welcome to the START stand to draw with the on-site START team. You’ll find the stand, made noticeable by a fetching orange carpet, in the middle of the Art Dubai fair.
START workshops from March 18-21 at Art Dubai, Madinat Jumeirah. For more information and to book workshops, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Free
