Dubai Opera by the numbers

Dubai Opera is one of the most significant project developments in the modern UAE, throwing Dubai to the front of queue in terms of hosting major musical, theatrical and creative shows.

Time Out will bring you all the information on shows, stars and more, but for now simply marvel at the magnitude of this new cultural icon.

600 There will be 600 lighting fixtures in Dubai Opera – including the chandelier
31 boxes will offer a total of 184 seats
21 dressing rooms with a capacity of one to ten people
5,000 then weight in kilograms of the chandelier. It contains 2,900 LEDs
5,798 square metres is the building’s footprint

The project broke ground in May 2013 meaning the total build time will be just over three years when the first show takes place on Wednesday August 31 2016.
