It's been several years in the making, but finally the Dubai Opera house is ready to start accepting guests.
And Time Out Dubai were among the first people inside the spectacular auditorium.
Ahead of Placido Domingo live on August 31, some select guests were given the chance to see the 2,000-seater auditorium in all its glory, before being treated to am orchestral dress rehersal of The Barber Of Seville, an iconic opera coming early September.

Here's our reporter's thoughts from her seat at the dress rehearsal: "The Barber of Seville dress rehearsal starts off with a warm-up from the orchestra - the flutes and violin take the lead, followed by the cast making an appearance on stage. The orchestra sets a moment for the characters, but six minutes in the stirring vocals of the singers and performers take over. These voices of the singers are the lucky first to echo inside the impressive interiors of Dubai Opera, and it gave me goosebumps. This comic opera is a prequel to the story told in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, and follows the life of a young couple. The subtitles in Arabic and English assist in creating the ultimate sensory experience, one you have to see for yourself."
