La Perle tickets go on sale

Al Habtoor City’s new Vegas-style theatre to open August 31

Tickets for the hotly-anticipated new theatrical venture, La Perle, will be on sale from tomorrow (Monday May 29), with shows starting from August 31.

The Las Vegas-style theatre, which is themed around water, has been brought to Dubai by the Al Habtoor Group, and it will be in Al Habtoor City.

The auditorium is set to host 1,300 theatregoers, and shows will use 2.5million litres of water, hydraulic lifts, fountains and high-powered winches to wow the crowds.

The concept comes from creative director Franco Dragone, one of the main brains behind Cirque Du Soleil, and whose most famous shows include Quidam and Saltimbanco. He’s more recently been responsible for spectacular stage productions including Celine Dion - A New Day; Le Rêve in Las Vegas, Aida in Naples and The House of Dancing Water in Macau.

During the shows at La Perle actors and acrobats will impress audiences with amazing stunts and aqua and aerial feats, including diving from 25 metres in the air and flying across the stage at speeds of 15km/h. State-of-the-art lighting and sounds systems all add to the wow-factor.

With just 14 rows of seats wrapping 270 degrees around the stage, all visitors will get a memorable, immersive experience (and if you’re in the front rows, maybe a slightly splashed one).

“The region has truly embraced the show with open arms and we look forward to welcoming our guests to the theatre in only a matter of months,” said Craig Hartenstine, executive producer of La Perle.

“We can say with all certainty that each person who comes to La Perle will be witnessing a live entertainment performance like they have never seen before.”

Mohammed K. Al Habtoor, vice chairman and CEO of Al Habtoor Group, added: “This is a pivotal moment for live entertainment not only in Dubai, but for the region too. The road to this moment has been an incredible journey, and we look forward to sharing this world-class show with audiences.”

La Perle comprises more than 130 world-class artistic, athletic and technical team members from 23 countries.

The shows will run twice a night, five days a week. Performances run Tuesday to Friday at 7pm and 9.30pm and Saturday at 4pm and 7pm.

Tickets start from just Dhs400, with bronze, silver and gold options, plus VIP packages.
