New Dubai theatre La Perle releases first images

Stunning new show unveils glimpse of aqua theatre during rehearsals

The first-look pictures of Dubai’s new aqua-theatre, La Perle, have been released, as we move ever closer to its grand opening.

With the theatre opening on Thursday August 31, La Perle is a 1,300-capacity theatre that will combine a range of technology and creative imagery to produce a spectacular visual display.

Sixty-five entertainers will perform an array of aerial and aquatic stunts during the show, while the audience will sit almost completely in-the-round, with seats surrounding 75 percent of the theatre and going only 14 rows back. This shallow, but wide layout means the entire audience will be close enough to keep fully engaged with the action throughout the show.

“It is a thrill to present the La Perle theatre to the public for the first time,” said Franco Dragone, creative director of La Perle. “An experience like no other, La Perle sets a new milestone in world-class entertainment with a show so spectacular that we had to build a theatre around it. We are extremely proud to present this unique project and can’t wait to welcome the first guests to immerse them in the wonderful world of La Perle.”

The show is set to run twice a night, five days a week. From Tuesday to Friday, the show will run at 7pm and again at 9.30pm, while on Saturdays performances will be at 4pm and 7pm.

Dhs400. From Thu Aug 31, Tue-Fri, 7pm and 9.30pm; Sat, 4pm and 7pm. La Perle, Al Habtoor City, (04 437 0123).
