Dubai Design District is always bringing this city something funky, creative and a little bit different, and this weekend is no different, with the first edition of a brand-new urban art festival landing this weekend.
Taking place from Thursday November 2 until Saturday 4, Blue Cave Urban Art Festival is an action-packed three-day event, with a huge programme of workshops, live art installations and some incredible exhibitions from some of the region’s most distinguished artists.
Expect live music, live painting and poetry, performances, talks and workshops at d3, where all created works and installations will remain at d3 as part of the district’s public art curated programme for the whole year round.
“Creativity is at the very heart of d3 and we’re delighted to present this unique festival to the Design Quarter,” said Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, CEO of d3. “d3 has become renowned for its wide-ranging events that aim to celebrate the diverse and vibrant creative community we have here at d3. Blue Cave will provide the public with yet another stellar weekend of workshops, talks and activities that everyone can benefit from.”
Blue Cave is a concept that helps provide a platform for artists from different industries, and recently launched a 10,000 sq ft art factory in Business Bay to that effect.
“We’re thrilled that Dubai Design District are partnering with us on this event,” said Tarsila Shcubert from Blue Cave. “There are many amazing artists in Dubai who are yet to be discovered. This is a terrific opportunity to get people closer to the regional art movement. There is a strong urban art community developing here and it’s great to be a part of it, whilst having so many people contribute to it.”
