Huge free concert Fête de la Musique coming to Dubai Opera

It is returning to the city following a three-year absence

Huge free concert Fête de la Musique coming to Dubai Opera

Good news for music fans – a huge free gig is in town next weekend, promising five of the city’s top bands.

In what will be a rare opportunity to head to Dubai Opera for a totally free concert, Fête de la Musique is back in town on Thursday June 21 for a full night of original music from local artists.

Having had a four year hiatus, the festival is back, this time with the mission objective of being “a day to celebrate music” and to “make it accessible to everyone and promote talent”.

“Fête de la Musique addresses all public and contributes to make all musical expressions accessible to all people from all walks of life, regardless of social status,” says the organiser Alliance Française Dubai.

Indeed, promoting local talent is at the top of the agenda, with a band recognised by Time Out Dubai as being one of the best original acts in the city featuring on the night.

As Per Casper is an international act comprised of six men and women from around the region and beyond, with a whole bunch of funky and uplifting tunes under their belt, so you can expect a lively performance from a band that’s been around the block in Dubai.

Also across the night, you’ll see performances from The Gypsy Swing Project, Healer Twins (featuring Herman Cortes), Kamal Musallam (featuring Red One), and the Eddie Misk Trio.

It all kicks off from 7pm at Dubai Opera, and, again, it’s completely free to attend. All you have to do to get your tickets is head to and RSVP in advance.

Free. Thu Jun 21, from 7pm. Dubai Opera, Downtown Dubai,
