Free Latin American art exhibition in Dubai Design District

We love a bit of art and culture and this Latin American exhibition has it by the bucket-load.

Venezuela Viva, Viva Venezuela celebrates Venezuelan heritage with the work of artists Ruben Molina and Arnaldo Gomez – and we can’t wait.

The two South American artists are showcasing their work, which celebrate Latin America with all of the bold colour and vivacious energy that you might expect.

The collection of paintings by Ruben Molina will be exhibited alongside a screening of Arnaldo Gonzalez’s film Impuls, an experimental film that draws on Gonzalez’s experience as an immigrant.

The exhibition will be showing tomorrow (Tuesday July 24) at Container 2 in Hai d3, starting at 6pm until 10pm. Tickets are free and you can register for the event on the Eventbrite website.

Both Molina and Gomez are represented by The AJALA Project – a Dubai-based art and social impact platform that empowers artists and creatives by connecting them with financers.

The award-winning Dubai-based social enterprise uses art to raise awareness and crowdfund for social causes, supporting various initiatives for marginal communities.

Guests of honour to the event include officials from the consulates of Venezuela, Spain and Mexico and all members of the Latin American community are welcomed along, too.

If you fancy getting creative yourself this summer, you can head back to d3 for complimentary creative workshops on a weekly basis for adults and children to touch up on their brush strokes or to learn a completely new art technique.

Taking place in Building 5, each session teaches a unique area of art, headed by different art organisations, including Tashkeel, thejamjar, Reem Al Awadhi and Jaffat Al Aqlam.
For further information and reservations for each workshop, visit www.dubaidesigndistrict.com. Tue July 24, 6pm-10pm. Free. Container 2, Hai Dubai Design District, www.theajalaproject.com.
