1 101 Dining Lounge & Bar
The location for idyllic proposals, this gorgeous spot on the tip of the Western Crescent of Palm Jumeirah is just fantastic for sundowners and views of Dubai Marina. Its vistas are supplemented by an over-the-water lounge seated area, and with some Mediterranean nibbles and tapas on the menu, you can keep yourself ticking over for hours here, just watching the world go by. It’s on the pricey side, but you’re looking to wow your date, aren’t you?

One of the most famous bars in Dubai, and perhaps the world, thanks to its its location in the record-setting Burj Khalifa. Set on the 122nd floor of the world’s tallest building, this bar is possesses an intimate feel, with some of the best views you’re likely to find anywhere in the city. So as far as date nights go, cosying on up and grabbing a drink or two with some simply stunning vistas is pretty good. Again, it doesn’t come cheap (as you’d expect) so save up those dirhams for this one.

3 BiCE Skybar
Head through a short corridor lined with box-lit artworks and you’ll be rewarded with a classy Italian bar that offers an ideal spot for an intimate get-together, with cracking mixed drinks and a view for sundowners. The terrace fills up, so arrive early for al fresco date nights

4 Jetty Lounge
This is a lovely little spot, and one of the most elegant beach bars in town. Head here for sundowners and catch the setting sun over the Arabian Gulf. The vibe is chilled out yet funky, thanks to some mellow dance tunes, and you can slouch back on some low-slung sofas. It’s thoroughly gorgeous, classy and romantic.

5 Luna Sky Bar
This rooftop bar in DIFC is a lovely spot to while away the hours over a drink. The terrace views are stunning, so it’s one best left for cooler weather, but it’s one for the diary.

6 Moe’s on the Fifth
If you’re after a date with some live music and a chilled-out vibe, look no further than this cool bar. There are cosy booths creating an intimate vibe, and not only are there some mellow tunes and interesting drinks, there are also some sharable snacks, too.

7 Poppy by David Myers
Home to retro vinyls, superbly moody, dramatic and romantic lighting, and expertly prepared mixed drinks, you’re bound to fall in love with this entirely charming, and completely hidden bar at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel Dubai. Once you’re there, though you’ll find an adorable spot, where the night will disappear before you’ve realised.

8 Q’s Bar & Lounge
If you’re looking to spend an evening in plush, dimly-lit live music venue (one of our favourites in town, since it was highly commended at the 2018 Time Out Dubai Music & Nightlife Awards), there are few better places in town, especially if you’re after some swinging jazz and other forms of live tunes.

Gorgeous, intimate, visually stunning and effortlessly cool are a handful of words we’d use to describe this charming spot at Taj Dubai in Business Bay. An open air bar in winter – with an air-conditioned summer canopy – there are few bars dotted around the city with more stunning views of the Burj Khalifa. Head along for a relaxing evening, and watch the twinkling city lights in comfort of chic furnishings.

One of city’s top grape bars, this cosy bar at WAFI in Oud Metha is a wonderful spot for fans of a nibble of cheese to go alongside your preferred grape. It’s ideal for couples and offers up a chilled out vibe. It’s slightly old-school for romance thanks to its warm setting and tonnes of candles dotted about the place. If you’re in the northern end of the city and after a relaxed spot for a bit of a treat, then look no further.
